If you didn’t know about it, then here is what it basically is, you set up an LLC in Montana, and register cars there through that, and pay no sales tax on the cars, RVs, Planes, whatever else. Apparently Georgia isn’t messing around anymore.

“Driving while Montanan” is a thing we have to deal with head on. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been harassed by cops in Washington , Wyoming, and Idaho while the only difference between me and the other white male people in 3/4 ton Chevy’s were my Montana plates.

I find the “but we got away with it for all these years” argument to pretty dumb. In the northeast states have numbers to report cars as people were so dumb to register their daily driver out of state. Needless to say a Florida plate attracts a bit of attention in February.

Second dumbest “this hurts the buying power of the purchaser” no shit just like the rest of us.

I have no problems with this.  Tax havens are the worst.  I get it, you have money you want protecting we all like money and holding on it, we also all like roads and public services.  Deal with paying your fair share.

Yep, they hate it, my dad and I drove from his house in Stevensville, MT to Oregon and got stopped two times, we weren’t even speeding. Both were BS reasons, like a tail light was out, it wasn’t, and the other said our license plate light was out, it wasn’t either.
